INDIANAPOLIS, IN (Wednesday, September 18, 2024) – Ted Giovanis is not only heading to Indiana to help Team TGM’s drive towards championship success at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Giovanis also continues his #DrivingResearch campaign.

As founder and president of the Jayne Koskinas Ted Giovanis Foundation for Health and Policy and the Giovanis Institute for Translational Cell Biology at Johns Hopkins, Giovanis works with researchers from across the country to fight cancer and with a commitment to generally changing health care for the better.  It is these researchers who commit their life’s work to being at the forefront of groundbreaking innovations and treatments to stop cancer in its tracks.

For Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Team TGM and Giovanis introduce the first Research Spotlight of the #DrivingResearch campaign.

“It’s great to be back in Indianapolis with the race team and to be able to ‘officially’ start our new #DrivingResearch platform with our first Research Spotlight,” said Giovanis.

“The research projects invested in by the JKTG Foundation and the Giovanis Institute are transformative. Our #DrivingResearch campaign aims to highlight the important work being undertaken by each of these researchers across the country, and the work by Dr. Andrew Ewald is no different."

“Dr. Ewald embodies how I view research, which is to tackle the hard questions and invite collaboration across disciplines, empowering new thinking that can transform how we diagnose and treat cancer."

“Team TGM will be #DrivingResearch as we head to Indianapolis for the penultimate race in the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge, where we are leading the driver and team championships with just two races to go."

“We have already clinched the Bronze Cup championship but our eyes are on the prize for Matt Plumb in the driver’s championship and obviously the team’s title that also is on the line.”

LIFE LESSONS FROM RACING

FOCUS FORWARD

Life comes at you fast when you’re traveling 180 miles per hour. For Ted Giovanis, it’s also where you can learn the most valuable lessons. Since becoming a race car driver three decades ago at age forty-six—a ride that is still in overdrive—Giovanis has discovered how the tools of racing and the teamwork within it are applicable to life and business. In forty-eight motivating and, at times, exhilarating chapters, he shares his experience and knowledge.
