BRASELTON, GA (Wednesday, June 5, 2024) – Team TGM is set to bring the team’s championship lead to Mid Ohio Sports Car Course this weekend as the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge prepares for the season’s second major four-hour endurance race.

The championship has traditionally opened its season with a four-hour race at Daytona International Speedway, but for the 2024 season, a second four-hour event has been added to the schedule, with the championship headlining the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course event this weekend.
Ted Giovanis, Paul Holton, Matt, and Hugh Plumb enter the weekend well-prepared after a recent test at the 2.2-mile, 13-turn road course aboard the team’s Aston Martin Vantage GT4 machines. Additionally, Kris Wilson will be joining the driver lineup in the No. 64 car as he did at Daytona.
Opened in 1962, the circuit is renowned as the most competitive in the U.S., but the TGM squad hasn’t always been fortunate at the venue.

“We finished sixth here in 2022 with a lot of luck and really good pit strategy,” said TGM team owner and driver Ted Giovanis.
“It was our first top-ten finish in several years, otherwise, we’ve been really unlucky at this circuit.
“The odd thing is that Hugh, Matt, and I really enjoy this circuit. It’s fun to drive, it’s very challenging, and offers up great racing. We just haven’t had the good finishes to go with it.
“We’re hoping for our best results yet at Mid Ohio this weekend. It’s a 4-hour race which the team always excels at, and we’ve really dialed in the Aston Martins. We’re also bringing in two championship leads to Ohio so that’s very motivating.”

Ted Giovanis - “We’re excited to bring the Aston Martins to Mid-Ohio. With strong results in the first three races and leads in all championships, consistency remains key. Welcoming Kris Wilson back as the third driver on the #64 adds to our momentum as we head into a busy stretch.”
Hugh Plumb - “Mid-Ohio is special to me—my first pro win and Ted’s 2020 championship victory happened here. The new surface will make things interesting, and a four-hour Sunday race is fantastic for teams and fans. We’re hungry for a win to maintain our championship lead.”
Matt Plumb - “Leading the championship after three races is great, but the goal is to be on top after race ten. Mid-Ohio is technical and perfect for a longer race where our strategy and pit stops shine. A win here would be the next big step for us.”
Paul Holton - “I’m thrilled for my first four-hour endurance race with Team TGM. The smooth, repaved Mid-Ohio surface allows unique tire strategies that could benefit GT4 cars. Matt and I are ready to fight for a strong finish and keep him leading the championship.”
