BOWMANVILLE, ONTARIO (Saturday, July 13, 2024) – Team TGM continued its championship charge today at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park with another podium for Matt Plumb and Paul Holton extending the team’s points lead in the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge Championship.

Ted Giovanis and Hugh Plumb’s Bronze Cup lead also grew with a third victory of the year for the No.64 car.
Matt Plumb has now increased his lead in the points championship to 300 points, while Giovanis and Hugh Plumb are well positioned to clinch the Bronze Cup Championship next month at Road America.
Matt Plumb and Paul Holton have had such a strong run this season that Holton moves into second in the points championship behind Plumb, despite the fact that Holton did not race in the opening round of the season at Daytona International Speedway.
With perfect weather, the always impressive Canadian crowd enjoyed an exciting 2-hour sprint race. Few caution periods impacted the contest on the fastest circuit the IMSA competitors race on all season.

Team owner/driver Ted Giovanis said, “We haven’t always had the best of luck in Canada but today could not have gone better. Hugh and I ran a smooth race and took another Bronze Cup win making it so that we can clinch that title with a strong race at Road America the next round."
“Matt and Paul finishing third gives Matt a stronger lead in the Driver Championship and moves Paul into second. The entire team had a great day with excellent strategy and pit stops."
“All four of the Team TGM drivers love this circuit. It’s fast, it’s challenging and the fans are tremendous. It’s great to have such a strong run at a place we truly enjoy.”
Next up for Team TGM is Round 7 of 10 of the Michelin Pilot Challenge series at Road America, August 1-4, 2024.

Ted Giovanis - “The race went pretty well. It was pretty uneventful at the beginning. We just had one yellow at the start, but it was a short yellow. Then everybody seemed to get into a grove. The 46 car had a good race too. All in all it was a good day for TGM. We’re all good and looking forward to the next race. Hats off to the entire TGM crew for the great job they have done and continue to do.”
Hugh Plumb - “I don’t think we expected this result this weekend. You can’t be great everywhere but Team TGM seems to find a way to pull it out of their hats. The crew did an amazing job, and Paul had a great first stint. Matt, as usual, did a great job.“Ted was amazing, it’s unbelievable, every time we turn up at a track, he never gives up, he never stops trying, he never stops learning. We’ve got a great lead in this Bronze Championship, so just really enjoying that. Another win in the Bronze Cup today and I’m super proud of the team. Great strategy call from Joe (Varde) and John Terry today. I always like to reflect back to the team because the guys are the ones who do all the work. Obviously, hats off to Kristina, who holds the team together."

Matt Plumb - “The 46 car started the race in fourth, finished in third. Once again TGM, the crew, everyone on the box did an amazing job. We timed our pit stop perfectly. It was a long second half of the race with no yellows. We came out of the pit in third and stayed there throughout the whole stint so it was pretty uneventful. The car was decent, although we didn’t get to test here. It’s a tough place in Toronto to get to for testing. Huge points day and I can’t thank the team enough, Ted and Kristina especially for putting this all together.”
Paul Holton - “It was a really great day here at Canadian Tire Motorsports Park. I had a good first stint, managed to get us into the second half of the race so we could one stop it on fuel. We ended up with a yellow which meant we would be really good on fuel. Another interesting fuel mileage race in the IMSA paddock. We didn’t have anything for the top two guys today but we ended up extending Matt’s championship lead by a sizable margin. I’m excited to be here and can’t thank Ted and Kristina enough for having me aboard this program. It’s such a professional organization and I’m ready for the next one at Road America.”
