LAGUNA SECA, CA (Sunday, May 12, 2024) — Team TGM has continued its strong start to the 2024 IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge season with its third consecutive top-ten finish at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca.

After finishing third and fourth in the first two races, Matt Plumb finished sixth with Paul Holton today to not only retain his championship lead and extend it.
The No. 46 Aston Martin Vantage GT4 has taken three top tens in three races – compared to six in total across the 2024 season.
The No. 64 Aston Martin, driven by Ted Giovanis and Hugh Plumb, today finished second in the Bronze class.

“The first part of the race was great, moving up several places in the No. 64. The team did a fantastic job.” said team owner Ted Giovanis.
“We had hoped for a podium for the No. 46 guys, but it didn’t happen today.
“It’s a long season and we are keeping our hopes alive for a championship. We are leading going into Mid-Ohio and will keep chipping away at it. ”
The next round of the championship will feature the season’s second four-hour race. The season began at Daytona with a four-hour battle, and now the teams will fight it out over the same duration at the Mid Ohio Sports Car Course from June 7-9.

Ted Giovanis - “It’s not been the best day, but leaving California with the points championship was our end game, and we’ve achieved that, so all-in-all, we’re happy with the results. Next up, Mid-Ohio will be key to keeping pace for the championship. It’s a track we’re very familiar with, and the Aston Martins performed well last year, so we have a good notebook on the circuit.”
Hugh Plumb - “Ted did a great job getting faster with every lap, staying out of trouble, and keeping the car clean for me. We were able to extend our points lead in the Bronze Championship. The 46 car holds the lead in the overall championship, and we also lead the team championship. Paul and Matt did an amazing job coming away with a good finish. The entire team did a great job, a big thanks to them.”

Matt Plumb - “I love Laguna Seca, but it’s tough to pass when you have a field this tight. It’s not the greatest day, but we’re certainly grateful for the points. Leaving here still in the lead of the points championship was always the goal. Team TGM is a great group. We’ve learned a lot today, and we will be even better next time!”
Paul Holton - “It was a pretty good race for Team TGM for both cars. I did quite a long first stint and was able to conserve a lot of fuel under cautions and hit the number the guys wanted. I had to deal with some unscrupulous driving from the guys around me but managed to get around them and hold onto third for most of my stint. Matt got caught up with some traffic which is always tricky here. However, we are excited to hold the points lead going into the midseason.”
