ELKHART LAKE, WI (August 7, 2021) – After Friday practice which included a small brake fire and some mechanical gremlins, Team TGM rebounded for Hugh Plumb #46 (who will race with brother Matt) to post a top-five qualifying position in this morning’s prelude to the Michelin Pilot Challenge race this afternoon at beautiful Road America.

“We chose not to test at Road America simply due to the limitations on teams from IMSA on testing days, so we came here with cars we had never driven on this circuit, said team owner/driver, Ted Giovanis.

“We were unsure of how the Chevy Camaro GT4.R would perform on this long 4-mile track; however, today we seem to have found the speed.  We definitely struggled yesterday with some unforeseen challenges with the cars, but the entire team has worked really hard to get us into a competitive position for today’s race.”

The sister car driven by Giovanis and Owen Trinkler #64 will go off 24th in class when the Road America 120 takes the green flag at 4:35 PM local time. The two-hour race can be watched on NBCSN Track Pass or IMSA Radio.

Off track, Team TGM is participating by donating some of their car parts to the Austin Hatcher Foundation Auction. The auction is both live and online and a full list of the auction items can be found at https://one.bidpal.net/roadamerica/browse/all
