ATLANTA GA (Monday, January 18, 2021) – Team TGM has joined forces with Porsche Silver Spring in the 2021 Rolex 24, where the team will be campaigning a Porsche GT3 R at the legendary twice-around-the-clock endurance race at Daytona International Speedway, January 30-31, 2021. Along with the team’s primary affiliation with the Jayne Koskinas Ted Giovanis Foundation, sponsorship from Porsche Silver Spring will highlight the team’s first venture into GTD racing and the Rolex 24.
Porsche Silver Spring is a Maryland Porsche dealership serving the DC and Baltimore Metro areas. Known for their friendly professional sales staff, product knowledge and exemplary service, Porsche Silver Spring is noted as one of the outstanding facilities in the Porsche family of dealerships.
Team TGM owner/driver, Ted Giovanis, has always built his race team on the platform of exceptional performance which partners perfectly with the foundations of Porsche Silver Spring.
“When it comes to sportscar racing, Porsche is a known winner and can be counted as one of the most successful marques competing worldwide, Giovanis said.
“It’s why we chose to race a Porsche GT3 R in the Rolex 24 and partnering with the folks at Porsche Silver Spring is also important in demonstrating the values of a very large company in Porsche on a personal basis and in the community.
“Our race team embraces many of the same qualities as found at Porsche Silver Spring, exceptional preparation, dedication and performance, which makes this partnership ideal. Racing 24 hours at one of the most iconic circuits in North America is a huge undertaking not unlike reaching the top of the Porsche family with a dealership of the outstanding reputation Porsche Silver Spring has achieved. We want to do all we can to get them onto the podium at Daytona in a couple week’s time.”
Casey Parkin, who was instrumental in bringing together the partnership between Team TGM and Porsche Silver Spring said, ”We at Porsche Silver Spring are remarkably appreciative of our friend Ted Giovanis and thankful that we have an opportunity to support him and Team TGM in their pursuit of a win at the 2021 Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona.”
Team TGM will begin their Rolex 24 campaign with practice and qualifying at the Roar Before The 24, January 22-24 at Daytona International Raceway, followed by the race starting January 30 at 3:40pm.
