BRASELTON, GA (Tuesday, March 14, 2023) – This week Team TGM will have only its second race outing with the team’s new marque, Aston Martin – taking the pair of Vantage GT4s to what is considered the toughest circuit in North America, Sebring International Raceway for the Alan Jay Automotive Network 120.

The second round of the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge will be staged as a Thursday race (March 16) – taking the green flag at 1:20pm.

Team TGM debuted its new cars at the opening round of the season at Daytona International Speedway. Both cars had extended stints in the top ten before finishing ninth (car No. 46 – Hugh and Matt Plumb) and 19th (car No. 64 – Ted Giovanis and Owen Trinkler) in the highly competitive GT4-based competition.

“We were pleased with the season opener at Daytona and our first competition with the Aston Martins,” said team owner and driver, Ted Giovanis.

“The cars showed a lot more strength than the results reflect. All four of us have some great successes at Sebring in a variety of racing machines in the past. We know this place well and we think we have the car to be on the podium.”

Ted Giovanis

“After testing a couple weeks ago at Sebring, we are very pleased with the advances we made, the car has great speed and reliability. Strategy is key at Sebring and Joe Varde is a master of planning and pivoting race strategy as the conditions demand. The Team TGM crew will be at their best as always.”

Owen Trinkler

“Since partnering with Aston Martin there has been a learning curve, as there would be with any new manufacturer. The cars are great to drive and we were able to test at Sebring a few weeks ago. We learned a lot and Ted posted his fastest lap ever on the circuit during the test. We’re looking forward to seeing how we can turn this into a podium result.”

Hugh Plumb

“Aston Martin has been a amazing manufacturer to partner with since the beginning. After successful testing and the TGM crew putting in a lot of hard work, we really want to give our team a good result for this second round of 2023.”

Matt Plumb

“We’re continuing to learn and develop the Aston Martin Testing went really well and with Sebring being such a uniquely rough track, we think we’ve reached a set up that will suit the Astons for the two hour race. The Team TGM crew has put in the hard work, as always, to give us the best chance for a win.”
