BRASELTON, GA (Wednesday, December 15, 2021) – For three of the Team TGM drivers it was an early Christmas when team boss, Ted Giovanis renewed their contract for 2022. The team announced today that Hugh Plumb, Owen Trinkler, and Matt Plumb would join Giovanis as the team’s driver line-up for the 2022 IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge series.

“There really wasn’t any question in my mind. We have gelled into a tight-knit group both on and off the track,” said team owner and driver, Ted Giovanis.

“The way that the four of us work together for the best results possible is irreplaceable. It’s a team, both drivers and crew, that has a common focus and drive for success.”

“All four of us have a long history driving Porsches, so it makes sense to have us together in the team’s new Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsports for the 2022 season. There is a lot of experience among us, and that should really help get us up to speed quickly.”

Driving the #64 Clubsport will be Giovanis and Trinkler, while the Plumb brothers, Hugh and Matt will co-drive the #46.

The team is anxiously awaiting the arrival of the new cars from Porsche. They will have their inaugural outing in the cars testing in early January in preparation for the BMW M Endurance Challenge race at Daytona International Raceway, January 28, 2022.

Prior to the season-opening race, the team will take the track in Daytona for the Roar Before the 24 testing weekend, January 21-23.

“We think the synergy of this driving combination, Owen and I and Hugh and Matt, works very well and gives us the best chance for podium finishes and another championship. Our sights have always been on a repeat of the 2018 championship, and we have the driver line-up to do it.”

Owen Trinkler

“This will be my fifth season with Team TGM and I’m so proud of what we have accomplished in that time. A championship and multiple race wins are at the top of the list, but more importantly, we have become a second family. There’s a lot more to accomplish, and the focus will be getting onto the podium every race in 2022. I can’t thank Ted and Kristina Giovanis enough for the opportunity and look forward to a great year with Team TGM.”

Hugh Plumb

“I’m so honored and proud to be a part of this winning effort. To be amongst people at TGM that have won so many championships/races is amazing. Ted Giovanis and Kristina Giovanis have put together such an incredible team. I’d like to give them and this talented squad another Championship that they deserve. I’m always confident in my brother Matt, he can get the job done!”

Matt Plumb

“I’m so happy to be back with this great crew of people for 2022. Team TGM’s move to Porsche is exciting and I can’t wait to get behind the wheel of the new Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport. It’s a great opportunity to be driving with my brother and being backed by the TGM crew. I’m looking forward to fighting for wins in 2022!”
