BRASELTON, GA (Tuesday, September 27, 2022) – After strategy played a key role in Team TGM’s last podium result, the knowledge and experience of the team’s engineering crew could again play a key role at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta this week with heavy rain predicted.

Careful management of fuel strategy was pivotal in scoring a podium finish at the last round of the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge at VIRginia International Raceway for Ted Giovanis and Owen Trinkler.

Severe weather from Hurricane Ian is expected to reach Atlanta by the weekend – impacting Friday’s race and requiring the TGM crew to make the right call when it comes to slick or wet Michelin tires.

Based adjacent to Road Atlanta, Team TGM will conclude their first season campaigning the Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsports with home team advantage.  Giovanis and Trinkler will again team up aboard the No.64 entry with Hugh and Matt Plumb ready to finish the season on a high with the No.46 Porsche.

Ted Giovanis

“It’s great to be back at Road Atlanta. It’s where the team is based and obviously we chose this area and Road Atlanta as our home track for a reason. It’s a track where we all have a lot of experience, both drivers and crew. This year has been a real rollercoaster for the team with some great highs and some real heartbreak, but we know this 2.54 mile circuit well and always look forward to finishing up the season at Road Atlanta.”

Owen Trinkler

“Road Atlanta is one of those circuits I consider my home tracks, I’ve made countless laps here. We were able to do some testing here recently and it was very productive. We worked on a lot of set up options and fine tuning, which we think will make a significant difference for the race. Ted and I have had a solid year with a couple of set backs but some real positives too. We started the year on a high note at Daytona and we plan to end it the same way.”

Hugh Plumb

“It’s always great to be back at Road Atlanta. It’s for sure been a bumpy year but my commitment to TGM being a first class commitment with Ted Giovanis and Kristina Giovanis at the helm will never waver. So close at VIR as we had a good run, going there to put us on the podium. I’m looking for a good result this weekend to end our 2022.”

Matt Plumb

“We’ve made it to our team’s home track here at Road Atlanta and everyone on the team is looking forward to closing out the 2022 season with a win. We’ve tested here and made some great strides preparing for the race. The real wrench in the works will come if the predictions are accurate and we have rain, which looks likely. This place can be treacherous in the wet but we’ve done it before and we’ll be ready.”
