BRASELTON, GA (Wednesday, June 23, 2021) – After having a potential race victory stolen after late-race contact in round three of the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge at Mid-Oho last month, Team TGM has its sights set on bouncing back this weekend at Watkins Glen.

The Atlanta, GA-based squad has been busy testing on the 3.4 mile Watkins Glen International road course in preparation for this weekend’s Tioga Downs Casino Resort 240 – the second four-hour endurance race of the season.

“We’ve put in a couple of days of testing at The Glen, and we’re happy with the gains we made,” said team owner and #64 driver, Ted Giovanis.

“I think I can speak for all of us when I say that this circuit is a favorite for the team. The elevation changes and layout is unique and presents a challenge that drivers enjoy.”

The team has an added incentive for success at Watkins Glen as the event marks a celebration with team owner and driver Ted Giovanis’s new book BEYOND FEAR released on Tuesday, June 22. The new book title has been a labor of love for the championship driver and team owner and will be showcased with a special livery on the Team TGM Chevrolet Camaros for Saturday’s race.

The event will start with practice on Friday, June 25 at 8 am, with GS qualifying slated for 3:45 pm the same day. Live radio broadcast is available on IMSA Radio.

Ted Giovanis

“I’ve been splitting my time preparing for this weekend’s race and promoting the book, which I am very proud of and happy to have released. But now it’s time to turn my full attention to racing, which will be a nice change as The Glen is a favorite track for me. We obviously showed really good pace at Mid Ohio and led for a significant portion of the race. Now it’s time to bring home a win. “

Owen Trinkler

“It’s nice to be back at a four-hour enduro. Pace is always important but consistency is something that Team TGM excels at. We’ve got a great crew, the best in the paddock, and they will make sure we have the long-run pace. We’re looking forward to a strong race.”

Hugh Plumb

“Maybe my favorite track on the schedule, Watkins Glen. With even the smallest amount of luck and all the talent of this team TGM, we will find ourselves with an excellent result. As always, I’m so honored and proud to be a part of this top-notch organization.”

Matt Plumb

“I’m excited to get back at it, and I really want to get the team the success that it deserves.
There is no better challenge than a four-hour race on one of the coolest tracks in North America. I’m really looking forward to hopefully wearing out our competition.”
