BRASELTON, GA (Wednesday, November 16, 2022) – After a successful run at the 2022 Rolex 24 at Daytona, Team TGM will return to the renowned annual event in 2023 with a new marque, Aston Martin.

Team TGM will be supported by factory Aston Martin team TF Sport, experts in endurance sportscar racing in British GT, Fanatec World Challenge Europe, Michelin Le Mans Cup, European Le Mans Series, International GT Open, and the FIA World Endurance Championship.

The Ted Giovanis-owned team made its debut in the annual Daytona endurance event in 2021 and recorded its first race finish this year with Giovanis joined by Matt and Hugh Plumb plus Owen Trinker.

“Many considerations went into the decision to go with Aston Martin and TF Sport,” Giovanis said.

“The opportunity made sense for our team on many levels and gave us the best chance to build on our 2022 Rolex 24 finish.

“TF Sport has extensive experience and success racing in Europe and our congratulations go to them for capturing the 2022 WEC Championship last weekend in the GTE Am category. However, they also have experience at the Rolex 24 and after much thought and due diligence, we felt that TF Sport and Aston Martin gave us the best opportunity for a podium finish in 2023.

“Although the Aston Martin is new to Team TGM, it’s obviously a car that has been very well developed and had much success in sportscar racing. TF Sport has been at the forefront of the race success with Aston Martin, and we couldn’t be more pleased to have them join us for the Rolex 24.”

First held in 1966, the Rolex 24 at Daytona forms the opening round of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship as well as the beginning of the IMSA Michelin Endurance Cup – a four-round part of the championship which also includes the 12 Hours of Sebring, the Six Hours of Watkins Glen and season-closing 10-hour Petit Le Mans at Road Atlanta.

“We are really excited to be partnering up with Team TGM at Daytona 24H. It’s such an awesome event, and we hope our knowledge of the Aston Martin GT3 can help them achieve a great result and enjoy their move to a fantastic brand!” said Tom Ferrier, TF Sport team owner.

Team TGM will once again pair Ted Giovanis with co-drivers Owen Trinkler, Hugh Plumb, and Matt Plumb for the Rolex 24 event. Giovanis continued, “These past couple of years, the four of us have really melded together for the 24-hour race, and our different driving styles have worked very well for strategy and driving stints.”

The IMSA Rolex 24 at Daytona is scheduled for January 28-29, 2023.
