LAKEVILLE, CT (Saturday, July 16, 2022) – The Plumb brothers have always considered Lime Rock Park as a home track and they showed their knowledge of the historic 50-year-old track when they scored a second row start for Team TGM at Lime Rock Park.

Hugh Plumb took the wheel for qualifying in the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge and stopped the clocks with a time of 53.947 seconds around the 1.5-mile venue.

He is no stranger to success here at Lime Rock. Plumb and Owen Trinkler won here for Team TGM in 2018 and 2019.

“Team TGM has always been very competitive at Lime Rock Park, it’s one that we look forward to visiting every year,” said Team TGM owner and driver, Ted Giovanis.

“The #46 car had a great run today in qualifying, and after a very disappointing run in Canada, we’re looking to rebound. This is a fantastic way to get the weekend started. We’ve won here several times, so we know the way to victory circle!”

Giovanis will start the race aboard the No.64 car after qualifying today, with Owen Trinkler bringing the Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport home in the second half of the two-hour battle.

Today’s race will take the green flag at 11:05 pm and be live on-demand on Peacock. Listen live on IMSAradio.com or follow Team TGM at:

“This afternoon it was hot, it got hot in the car, and the track was hot, so the grip wasn’t ideal, but all in all it was pretty good. After 4-6 laps, I was trying to get better into turn 1; that was my focus, that’s where I could try to do better. I was able to accomplish that, so a good run for the #64. Hugh was able to get fourth, so we have the Porsches set up right, and we all seem to be happy with the cars, and it should be a good race.”

Hugh Plumb

“I’m super happy for Team TGM to be starting on the second row. Having a good starting position here is really what it’s all about, carrying momentum forwarded into this two-hour race. I’m happy with the second row. We are making big headway every practice, every lap, every change we make. Trying to figure this Porsche out and gaining ground. I’m happy for Ted and Kristina Giovanis and the team, and having their cars start up front is great.”
