BRASELTON, GA (Wednesday, August 2, 2023) – Road America in Elkhart Lake, WI, has long been a favorite for all four Team TGM drivers, however when they return this week to the 4.048 mile, 14-turn road course it will be on a newly repaved surface.
For the first time since 1995, the historic circuit was completely repaved in the off-season. The new surface is quickly gaining a reputation for providing more grip on the racing line – but offline remains a challenge for all competitors.
“We tested at Road America a few weeks ago, and the surface was slick and smooth,” said team owner and driver, Ted Giovanis.
“With the renewed track having hosted Trans Am, Carrera Cup, International GT, Xfinity, etc., it’s hard to predict how the surface will race this week.
“Additionally, the WeatherTech series will race prior to Michelin Pilot on Sunday, and that will certainly impact the track. However, we are confident in our Aston Martin Vantage race cars and the progress we’ve made throughout the season. We think Road America is well suited for these cars, and we’re looking forward to the weekend.”
